The History of Google and How It Was Invented Search engines, or internet portals, have been around since the early days of the internet. But it was Google,  a relative latecomer, that would go on to become the premier destination for finding just about anything on the World Wide Web. Definition of a Search Engine A search engine is a program that searches the internet and finds webpages for you based on the keywords that you submit. There are several parts to a search engine, such as: Search engine software, including boolean operators, search fields, and display formatSpider or crawler software that reads web pagesA databaseAlgorithms that rank results for relevancy Inspiration Behind the Name The very popular search engine called Google was invented by computer scientists  Larry Page and Sergey Brin.  The site was named after a googol- the name for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros- found in the book Mathematics and the Imagination by Edward Kasner and James Newman. To the sites founders, the name represents the immense amount of information that a search engine has to sift through. Backrub, PageRank, and Delivering Search Results In 1995, Page and Brin met at Stanford University while they were  graduate students in computer science. By January 1996, the pair began collaborating on writing a program for a search engine dubbed Backrub, named after its ability to do backlink analysis. The project resulted in a widely popular  research paper titled The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine. The search engine was unique in that it used a technology they developed called  PageRank, which  determined a websites relevance by taking into account  the number of pages, along with the importance of the pages, that linked back to the original site. At the time, search engines ranked results based on how often a search term appeared on a webpage. Next, fueled by the rave reviews that Backrub received, Page and Brin began working on developing Google. It was very much a shoestring project at the time. Operating out of their dorm rooms, the pair built a server network using cheap, used, and borrowed personal computers. They even maxed their credit cards buying terabytes of disks at discount prices. They first tried to license their search engine technology but failed to find anyone that wanted their product at an early stage of development. Page and Brin then decided to keep Google in the meantime and seek more financing, improve the product, and take it to the public themselves when they had a polished product. Initial Funding The strategy worked, and after more development, the Google search engine eventually turned into  a hot commodity. Sun Microsystems co-founder  Andy Bechtolsheim was so impressed that after a quick demo of Google, he told the pair, Instead of us discussing all the details, why dont I just write you a check? Bechtolsheims check was for $100,000 and was made out to Google Inc., despite the fact that Google as a legal entity did not exist yet. That next step didnt take long, however. Page and Brin incorporated on September 4, 1998. The check also enabled them to raise $900,000 more for their initial round of funding. Other angel investors included Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos.   With sufficient funds, Google Inc. opened its first office in  Menlo Park, California.  Google.com, a beta (test status) search engine, was launched and answered 10,000 search queries every day.  On September 21, 1999, Google officially removed the beta from its title. Rise to Prominence   In 2001, Google filed for and received a patent for its PageRank technology that listed Larry Page as the inventor. By then, the company had relocated to a larger space in nearby Palo Alto. After the company finally went public, there were concerns that the one-time startups rapid growth would change the company culture, which was based on the company motto, Do No Evil. The pledge reflected a commitment by the founders and all employees to carry out their work with objectivity and without conflicts of interest and bias. To ensure the company stayed true to its core values, the position of chief culture officer was established. During the period of rapid growth, the company introduced a variety of products, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Voice, and a web browser called Chrome. It also acquired streaming video platform YouTube and Blogger.com. More recently, there have been forays into different sectors. Some examples are Nexus (smartphones), Android (mobile operating system), Pixel (mobile computer hardware), a smart speaker (Google Home), broadband (Google Fi), Chromebooks, (laptops), self-driving cars, and numerous other ventures.  Advertising revenue generated by search requests remains its biggest earnings driver, however. In 2015, Google underwent a restructuring of divisions and personnel under the conglomerate name Alphabet. Sergey Brin became president of the newly formed parent company, while Larry Page is the CEO. His position at Google was filled with the promotion of  Sundar Pichai. Collectively, Alphabet and its subsidiaries consistently rank among the top 10 most valuable companies in the world.  Its often also cited among the most influential and admired companies as well.

What exist between Florence and Rob on the other hand is a relationship that’s not accepted by society and condemned by law. However, what ought to be looked at is not the act itself but the question on what made her commit such act. It was a shot at happiness, to have the very thing that he wanted so badly but when it was his for the taking he did not take it. Here lies the complexity of human emotions. Their affair goes beyond the Holiday Vacation. Though the timeline of the story skipped a couple of years before their paths crossed again, it cannot be denied that in each encounter, the dying flame of their affair is fanned once more. That Holiday Vacation was of great importance to Florence, Archie and Rob. It was perhaps the climax of their lives. The moment that set the path upon which they will take. They were separate entities brought about in that place to clearly define the relationship that existed in the three of them. It was a chance to change their lives and redefine their connection, but such requires great courage that only Rob had at that time. Florence was, at that moment, scared to let go of the security that she had with Archie. In their marriage she had stability and he had a wife. It was ideal and accepted by society. Before the affair she was contented, but contentment if a far cry from happiness. At the end of the vacation she asked him not to leave, but he chose to do so. This is because man cannot stand the torture of having the woman that you want wrapped in somebody else’s embrace. Rob said that he longed for that vacation since it was the first time that he can have her the entire evening without having her rush home to her husband at dawn. It was a chance to feel that he owned her but that moment never came. It was a chance that she was too scared to take, and now that she wanted him desperately, it was him who chose not to be with her. She wanted him to say that he wants her but he never did just that. Health care facilities are in huge demand for the elderly and for people who lives in low-income communities. A person who receives good quality health care services can prevent the spread of contagious diseases. This paper will describe the need of the community, population it is serving, and a brief description of the facility. Franklin C. Fetter Family Health Center (FCFFHC) is an outpatient clinic and has served the communities, and the surrounded rural areas since 1975. This health center is greatly needed in the rural and low-income communities because the people could not get to their local hospital. Therefore, the people in those communities were not getting the necessary medical health care needed. Dr. Franklin C. Fetter, the Dean of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, and founder, provided culturally sensitive comprehensive primary health and home care services to children, and adults as part of a demonstration grant under the Medical University in 1968, (FCFFHC, 2013). The center offers support to the community by sponsoring health awareness campaigns, health fairs, and through their media. The most important need that the elderly community needed was a Home Health Department (FCFFHC, 2013). This department provides services to home bound people who cannot travel to see the doctor. Home Health have a staff of one medical doctor, physician assistant, and a nurse practitioner. The medical facility operates eight primary health sites for the residents of Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, and Dorchester counties. Fetter mission is to provide quality, affordable, culturally sensitive comprehensive primary health and home care services to families throughout their community and surrounding areas,† (FCFFHC, 2013, p. 1). , ‘ Franklin C. Fetter Center’s services includes: (FCFFHC, 2013) Prenatal Care Infant and Adolescent Care Adult and Geriatric Care Behavioral Health Breast Examinations Cervical Cancer Screening Skilled Home Health Service Prenatal Care (OB/GYN) EPSDT/ Immunizations Family Planning The health center offers many more services to the local community (FCFFHC, 2013). The population that FCFFHC provide medical care services to is 19,325 of rural and low-income people. The Health Center serve people of all ages from newborns to adults. Patients with insurance are require to present their insurance card before he or she receive services. Patients are expect to pay the co-payment or co-insurance. Patients without insurance at 100% of poverty level are require to pay a minimum of $30. Patients who pay for his or her services are require to pay, according to the sliding fee of $40, $50, or $60. The Health Centers’ sources of revenue are generated from: Fees-for-Service, Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, and Grant Funds (FCFFHC, 2013). The newest facility was built in the spring, 2013. The center is in Yonges Island, South Carolina. This is a rural and remote area with mostly elderly people with little or no income. A health care facility existed where the new site is but had to be torn down because it needed severe repair. It is a one story brick building. The clinic has a patient registration that is adjacent to the Medical Records department. The Admitting front desk consisted of two receptions who check in the patient to see his or her provider. The appointment clerk is next to the Front desk. The appointment receptionists are the people who schedules everyone appointment and cancel a no show appointment. The Pharmacy is behind the Front desk personnel. The pharmacy provides the patients with low cost medicine based on a sliding fee. The nursing department and the physician’s office are behind the â€Å"DO NOT ENTER† sign. The health clinic have a total of seven adult examination room, and four pediatric rooms. The lab is behind the nursing station in the back of the facility. The medical center have a staff of 35 people. Building new health care centers in low income and rural areas will have a huge influence on families in the community. Getting good quality health care services are essential to the everyday living. It would make the people in the community feel as if someone cares about him or her. When a community is left with nowhere to get any medical services, they tend to deal with whatever health issues he or she may have. Not possessing access to medical care can sometimes lead to terminal illness and maybe death. Families would be able get the medical services that he or she needed for his or her family.
